In the use of fiber laser cutting machines, many various puzzling problems may arise, why they occur, how to understand them, and what the corresponding solutions are. This article will answer all of these questions.
Power too low, or speed too fast, unable to cut.
Power is too large, cutting speed is too slow, or oxygen pressure is too high will cause melting of the cutting face.
The power is too low, the speed is too fast, the air pressure is too small, or the focus is too high to lead to the disorderly cutting of the lower surface and the slag hanging from the bottom.
Proper power, perfect speed, focus on a defined position, and normal atmospheric pressure will create a bright and slag-free cutting surface.

Defect | Cause | Solution |
No burr, traction line consistent | Power right
The traction line at the bottom has a large offset and the cut at the bottom is wider | Feed rate is too high | Reduce the feed rate |
The burrs on the bottom surface are like slag and are spotty and easy to remove | Feed rate is too high | Reduce the feed rate |
Metal burrs connected together can be removed as a single piece | The focus is too high | Reduce the focus |
Metal burrs on the underside are difficult to remove | Feed rate is too high | Reduce the feed rate |
| Incorrect alignment of nozzle | Focus Nozzle Change Nozzle |
Material is expelled from above | The power is too low | This situation appears immediately according to temporary |
| Improper, improperly mounted or defective full mirror | Check the full mirror |
| Processing gas error (N2) | This situation appears immediately according to temporary |
The cut surface is not precise | Air pressure is too high | Reduce the pressure |
No burr, traction line slanted | Feed rate is too high | Reduce the feed rate |
Produce crater | Air pressure is too high | Reduce the pressure |
Very rough surface | The focus is too high | Reduce the focus |
SS:N2 High Press Cutting
Defect | Reason | Solution |
| The focus is too low | Raise the focus |
Both sides produce long irregular filamentary burrs, the surface of the large plate discoloration | Feed rate is too low | Increase the feed rate |
| The nozzle is not aligned | Focus nozzle |
The cutting edges are yellow | Nitrogen contains oxygen impurities | Use good quality nitrogen |
| Feed rate is too high | This situation appears immediately according to temporary |
The beam spread | Feed rate is too high | Reduce the feed rate |
Plasma is generated around the corner | Angle tolerance too high | Reduced Angle tolerance |
The beam diverges at the beginning | Acceleration too high | Reduce acceleration |
Incision is rough | The nozzle is damaged. | Replace the nozzle |
| The power is too low | This situation appears immediately according to temporary |

In order to achieve the best machining quality, please follow the following instructions:
-- Precision adjustment machine tools
-- Carry out maintenance according to the maintenance plan
-- Processing in accordance with the above requirements
-- The workpiece material is pure, and the surface is free of rust or scale (pickled or smooth).
-- The parameters are matched with the specifications of materials and plates
-- Presets associated parameters
When a reduction in machining quality is noticed, check for the following factors:
1. The parameters
2. The processing head
3. Beam path (cutting head)
4. Laser QBH head protective lens
